11 Nov Connections, inspiration and business growth: the DARETOGROW launch event
“Lisa totally knocked it out of the park today”
Friday 8th November saw the launch of the very first DARETOGROW / Live networking event in Newcastle city centre, bringing together forty passionate and purpose driven entrepreneurs for a transformational business growth workshop, structured breakout groups to form new connections, and high energy networking.
Led by motivational speaker and business coach Lisa Bean, the day was designed to give attendees a noticeable boost in energy, along with actionable business growth strategies they could implement in their businesses.
As Specialty Food and Drink Photographer Sue Todd commented: “Lisa totally knocked it out of the park today with her first ‘Dare To Grow’ Event and it was so, so good to be there. A room full of fantastic people, in a great space. Everyone working alone and together ‘on’ their business while connecting with people at the same time in a totally supportive and enriching environment. My head is buzzing, with ideas, with things to do, with just the day actually. Such a great day and it’s lifted me more than I can explain.”
From the moment participants walked into the room, comments were made about the ‘high vibe’ atmosphere. As Brand Strategist Amy Purdie commented: “Aside from the snazzy extras like the tote bags, the amazing printed workbook, and the lovely lunch, the room was PACKED with fascinating people. The content delivered by Lisa was excellent, inspiring, and useful, and the breakout sessions were a great way to meet new people AND talk about business in a structured way that didn’t feel awkward. We looked at marketing strategies, we laughed, we shared, we planned—not just for 2025 but to make 2024 the best year possible. We left with our heads full of ideas and stuff to do. Networking with homework—it’ll be so worth it! Can’t wait for the next one!”
A Transformational Talk to Set the Tone
Lisa kicked off the day with a brand new business growth talk, challenging participants to think differently about their goals and business strategies. Drawing on her experience as a serial entrepreneur who has built three six-figure businesses, Lisa shared insights into what it truly takes to succeed in business. Her messaging around sales and marketing resonated deeply with the attendees, setting a proactive tone for the day. “My goal is to really challenge people to see what it really takes to grow a business”, said Lisa, “I think social media has given us the impression it’s easy and that posting content is enough. It isn’t, so I want to show people what they really have to do in practical steps, and actually get them doing it.”
The talk was followed by structured networking sessions that offered more than just surface-level introductions. Erin Taylor, Certified Mindset, Empowering & Development Coach, commented: “This was the perfect way to bring 2024 to a close whilst looking to 2025 and having a clear action plan & excitement.”
Hands-On Workshops and Takeaway Tools
In addition to Lisa’s talk, attendees received printed workbooks, designed to help them reflect on their wins, strategise their next steps, and get to work in 2024, rather than wait until 2025. Lisa Picken, Registered Nutritional Therapist & Health Coach, commented: “Today, I’ve been hanging on Lisa’s every word about marketing and growing your business. Over-delivering is Lisa’s specialty, and she didn’t disappoint. The workbooks, tote bags, and delicious catered lunch added so much to the experience.”
Amy Purdie echoed this sentiment, adding, “We looked at marketing strategies, we laughed, we shared, we planned—not just for 2025 but to make 2024 the best year possible. We left with our heads full of ideas and stuff to do. Networking with homework—it’ll be so worth it!”
Lunch was provided on site, following the morning workshop, to give attendees more opportunities to network, chat, reflect and form new connections, and photographed Bill Bean of Bean Photographed was on hand to capture the day.
Creating a Supportive Community for Growth
This DARETOGROW event emphasised community, support, and collaboration, offering a space for like-minded entrepreneurs to come together. Belinda Hillman, Founder of Belinda Mindset and the Hair & Beauty Industry, noted: “Fantastic networking and training day with Lisa Bean in Newcastle. Dare to grow is an incredible event and Lisa is a gem of a coach. If you are a business owner and live in the North this event is not to be missed.”
Lisa’s vision for DARETOGROW is to create a thriving community of entrepreneurs who inspire and motivate each other. “It’s so important to support and challenge each other to grow and spaces like this are so rare,” she said, “that’s why I’m so passionate about creating networking events where people can come together, learn, and take action.”
What’s Next?
With such overwhelmingly positive feedback, Lisa is excited to bring DARETOGROW / Live to other cities, including Leeds and London, in the coming months.
